Adding hotels to your trip

4 min read

Every hotel in Stopover lives on a Stay leg. The flow mirrors flights — paste a link, or type it in.

Paste a Google Hotels link

  1. Search for your stay on google.com/travel/hotels.
  2. Open the hotel you're interested in.
  3. Copy the URL.
  4. In Stopover, open the stay leg → Paste tab → paste the link → Find hotels.

Stopover pulls the property name, nightly rate, and total cost into the leg. If you searched for a date range that doesn't match your trip, the search adjusts to your stay's check-in and number of nights.

Manual entry

For hotels you've already booked or for stays a search won't find (small B&Bs, friends' apartments, points-only properties):

  • Hotel name
  • Brand or chain (optional)
  • Nightly rate and total
  • Currency
  • Confirmation number (optional)

Set the night count on the leg itself and the check-out date follows.

Multi-night and split stays

Most stays are one block of nights at one property. If you're moving between hotels in the same city, add a second Stay leg for the same city — Stopover stacks them in order. The Overview shows total nights in the city; the Budget shows each booking separately.

Marking a hotel as booked

Same as flights: fill in the Confirmation field on the stay leg with your booking reference. The ✓ appears next to the hotel in the Overview and it counts toward the "booked" tally up top. Hotels without a confirmation still count toward your total cost but show as pending.
